Trust the Process

Here are the kind of photographs that you get when you trust the process: genuine moments, connection & affection. Memories that are real fun, not a posed moment. It's a whole family experience - if you let it be.

Hanging out with this family was so great - a family photographer's dream! They were ready for play and prompts, for snuggles, tickles and races. And what we got were photos that tell a story. It’s a story of their family’s connection, the fun and all the love. What really helped was that I could tell they really trusted me the whole way.

Which brings me to these following points... It's a little glimpse behind the scenes, your session seen from my perspective and WHY IN THE WORLD YOU SHOULD TRUST THE PROCESS.

an EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONAL

Whether I am your photographer or you have someone else, please, please, please trust us as professionals - most of us know what we're talking about when it comes to

  • location & light - what time of day and weather at which location will give best results
  • wardrobe - mood, style & color theory, timelessness etc.
  • session type - how long your session should be to give you the experience you're looking for
  • posing, prompting, making you look wonderful
  • editing - this one depends on each photographer - see their work to find what your should expect!

FIND WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT AHEAD OF TIME

Check out your photographer's previous work on their socials and their website. Find reviews and testimonials before you book. Ask all the questions you want before your session even starts.

If you can't find this info on their page, ask these questions:

What sessions do you offer, what will my investment cost, and what does this include?

How long until we receive our finished images?

Is there a location you really love that might go with my session wishes?

Do you recommend certain outfits (for our style and our location)?

How long will my photos be available to view, download, order products of?

What if I wish for my child's face to not be on social media?

Find out if you'd be a great fit!

Pricing is well thought out

Yes, your photo session is a true investment. You pay someone money to freeze a moment, an era, a phase in time. Childhood and teenage years, those times you prayed for years ago. But I know many people look at a photographer's prices and say "Ugh, that's a lot!"

I'll let you in on a secret. It's really easy to make a photographer feel insecure about their pricing, UNLESS they have thought this out for a very long time. Comparison comes with the business, I guess, but think about it like this:

If you pay for fast food, you can't expect a steak.

The cost of your session includes way more than just the time you spend shooting. It also includes travel, editing time, taxes, experience, training/education, time spent on websites, socials and more, childcare, e-mails, internet bills, software subscriptions, programs and more. So yes, your photographer will probably put most of your investment right back into the business. The rest of it goes to a hard-working real person. This one has a family.
